A Miracle Statue Above Saguenay Captures Faith and Perseverance
Jeff Wallace recalls Notre Dame du Saguenay, a 30 foot marble statue on Cape Trinity in Quebec. Charles Napoleon Robitaille survived a frozen Saguenay crossing, vowed a memorial, and funded a 19th century feat: 14 cut pieces lifted by ten men and reassembled over eight days to crown the gorge with a beaming Mary. The tale sits beside travel memories from South Carolina and U S sights worth discovering.
