Aiken City Council approves fees plan for grant aided homes
The council backs an ordinance to absorb impact fees for affordable homes funded by state and federal grants. Water fee is 750 and sewer 400 per home. About 10 to 20 homes yearly may qualify with 250000 set aside from the one cent sales tax for Northside development. The measure includes future fees and sets aside funds in next year’s budget. The action coincides with designating a Second Baptist CDC site as a Community Renewal Development Plan to qualify for a tax credit program.
