Blue laws and stormwater fees debated by county council
County council debated a $24 stormwater charge for residential units and higher fees for commercial ventures as part of a budget amendment. The vote to table and then pass the measure was hotly contested to keep a $100 cap. several officials questioned guidance from health and environmental agencies. The body also voted to sell the Mattie C. Hall Healthcare Center for about $8.5 million, while suspending Sunday blue laws drew religious objections.
