Robbers hit two poker parlors in Aiken County

The sheriff’s office probes two armed robberies, one with a shooting, at Eagle Express in Graniteville and another video poker parlor, both occurring Friday night into Saturday morning. In Graniteville the suspects entered at 10:30 pm, one threatening the clerk with a rifle or shotgun and demanding cash after the register tray crashed to the floor.

Hopelands Opens Annual Light Show In eighth Year

Under a starry sky Hopelands opened its Christmas light display for the eighth year. More than 70 000 lights decorate 25 displays along 1 5 miles of paths through the gardens. Glen Parker noted the good weather as crowds visited the outdoor show with performances by Town Creek Baptist Church entertaining spectators.
