Will Williams, director of Aiken Development Partnership, was named the South Carolina state director on the Southern Economic Development Council board. He will serve a two year term beginning January 1 after selection by South Carolina peers. The SEDC includes members from 17 states and various economic development sectors.

Man posing as City worker knocks at Aiken home
A man claiming city employment tried to gain entry at a Roundhill Court residence around 11 a.m. He approached the door, attempted to turn the handle, then walked to a small white pickup. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5'6", 180 pounds, with a two-tear-drop tattoo under his left eye. The City of Aiken denied any area work.
