Local man killed in yard fire in Graniteville

An 82-year-old man, William C. Hicks Sr. of Avis Street, Graniteville, died after a yard fire he started to maintain his lawn spread to his clothing. He collapsed on his porch after pounding on his door for help. The coroner cites burns over 95 percent of his body and cardiac arrhythmia as the cause.
