Coffield to Face Trial in North Augusta Murder Case

Alvin Hugh Coffield is set for trial in this week’s Aiken County General Sessions Court in the murder of Dr. John Gilliam. Board to Hear Second Reading on Interscholastic Policy

Aiken County Board of Education will meet at 7 30 p m at the Educational Center 843 Edgefield Ave to discuss a policy revision for grades 9 12 in interscholastic activities requiring four passed courses including graduation units and a passing semester average D or better. The board also reviews a state education department monitoring report noting deficiencies in certified staff facilities custodial services and class sizes and will consider a teacher job description workers compensation revision and maintenance committee improvements.
