Ohio carries out first single drug lethal injection
Kenneth Biros, 51, was executed at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in about ten minutes using one drug, sodium thiopental, in the first U S execution with a single drug. The Supreme Court denied last appeal as relatives of the victim reacted outside. Ohio followed a botched prior attempt prompting the switch amid ongoing ethical debate.
