USC trims part time faculty as USC budget cuts bite
The University of South Carolina plans to end about a quarter of adjunct and part-time contracts amid 39 million dollars in cuts across its 12 campus system. Major reductions hit Columbia campuses including USC medical school and USC Beaufort, with further cuts anticipated as state budget actions loom. Eldered positions and travel raises also face cuts while tuition remains unchanged for the rest of the year.
