Aiken School Board weighs press box upgrades and policy shifts
Aiken County Board of Education will review bids to paint press boxes at Aiken Silver Bluff and Midland Valley high schools with a base bid of 9000 per site. Low bidder is R.D. Brown Contractors Inc. Plans include staining floors. The five year facility plan funds the 27000 total contract.

Reports from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office describe a white male taking money from a car on Wagener Road in Aiken and fleeing in a white Chevrolet truck. A North Augusta man was arrested for disorderly conduct in Clearwater after slurred speech and unsteady balance. An Aiken woman reported harassment by her ex-boyfriend via texts from Creek Court. A Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from a business parking lot on Columbia Highway North in Aiken. A 42-year-old Aiken man was arrested for disorderly conduct on Green Road after appearing intoxicated and yelling at responders.

Giving Trees will be located in the Aiken North Augusta Jackson New Ellenton Midland Valley and Wagoner libraries from November 23 to January 2. For 20 dollars patrons can obtain a book. A free addiction support group meets 5 30 to 7 p m Tuesdays and Thursdays at Dr John Whitley Jrs office 1315 W Martintown Rd North Augusta for those affected by addiction or alcoholism.
