Lincoln signed copy of 13th Amendment restored in Illinois
Conservators from Chicago volunteered to repair a nearly 147 year old vellum copy of the 13th Amendment held at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. After months of work to flatten the document and strengthen ink the piece will be returned for public display starting in February.
