The Aiken Jaycees Salvation Army and Valley Empty Stocking Fund urge giving to aid needy families. Last year the Valley fund raised 12000 dollars from local groups and citizens. This year the Salvation Army aims for 33000 dollars with mail appeals and kettles. Jaycees sponsor a Dec 17 shopping tour at Wal Mart for needy children and the campaign closes Dec 16. Contributions include mailing to box numbers in Aiken Langley and Graniteville and checks to the Jaycees tour box.
