Indictments rise as SC officers face charges over shootings
In four months three white South Carolina officers are indicted for on duty shootings of unarmed black men. Prosecutors say cases against officers are scrutinized to counter the “good old boy” stereotype. Combs, a former Eutawville chief, faces murder after a 2011 death. Other recent cases include an Augusta or North Augusta officer and a state trooper charged in separate incidents. The indictments come amid national outcry over policing.
