In London the 12th century illuminated Gospel manuscript The Gospels of Henry the Lion sold for 7.4 million pounds 10.7 million dollars at Sotheby’s to H B Kraus and Bernard Quaritch Ltd. The piece likely had fewer than six owners in 800 years and was produced circa 1170 near Brunswick Germany.
