More than eighty riders participated in a motorcycle toy run Saturday to support Helping Hands 3A and a Christmas craft show. The event brought holiday spirit to the H. Odell Weeks Center and wrapped up the 35th annual drive.
A collision on West Martintown Road led to a fatal shooting Saturday afternoon. Tim Carlton says Mark Y. Sharrock died from a back wound after his Suzuki Sidekick hit the rear of Clarence Shehan’s trailer near Knobcone Avenue. Police confirm the incident remains under investigation.

Atown joined Saturday morning as St Pauls Church hosted line up and families cheered, creating a warm sense of togetherness. A one year old named Robby Green will travel to Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore for six weeks of surgery and rehabilitation to repair bladder exstrophy. Born with the bladder outside the body his parents Jason and Jennifer Green recall fear yet hope for a normal future. Doctors anticipate about ten hours of operation to reposition the bladder inside the abdomen as part of his ongoing development.
Ashley Prescott leads a fundraiser for Jennifer Steen and her son Robby, aiming to cover Johns Hopkins stay and surgical expenses estimated around half a million dollars. Donations to the Robby Fund are accepted via Carolina First, contact 642-0300 or the Aiken Standard for details.
