Jet Crashes in Douala Leaves 60 Dead in Swamp

A Cameroon Airlines Boeing 737 on its second landing skimmed the runway and plunged into swamps in Douala, killing at least 60. Aviation officials and journalists report five rescued, with one attendant among survivors. Weather conditions were not known.

Greenwood Woman Dies In House Fire

A local woman Dora Craig aged 63 died from smoke inhalation in a house fire late Friday. Investigators had not yet determined a cause. the Greenwood Fire Department and State Law Enforcement Division investigated the blaze with a neighbor’s house suffering minor heat damage.
