Supreme Court weighs Sanford's bid to keep Reserve commission

The South Carolina Supreme Court will hear arguments challenging Gov. Mark Sanford's right to stay in office while holding a U S Air Force Reserve commission. Sloan argues the issue affects all citizens and that the constitution limits governors to state militia command. Sanford's side says militia definitions have evolved and the Reserve falls under militia. Sloan previously sued Hunley caretakers for financial disclosures. The court reviews the case directly without lower courts.
