Al Qaida Linked to Kenya Attacks Rumors Grow Credible
U S officials say evidence ties the Kenya terrorist strikes to al Qaida. A Web posted claim from The Political Office of al Qaida Jihad Organization cites the attacks on an Israeli airliner and a hotel in Mombasa as part of a broader campaign. Investigators linked two missiles used in the assault to a May attack on a US military plane, suggesting a coordinated group effort involving Osama bin Laden’s network and possibly a Somali affiliate.
