Interstate 77 to get $3.5 million ITS camera network
State officials plan 26 cameras and 45 radar detectors along a 14 mile stretch of Interstate 77 to monitor travel speed, detect accidents, and speed responses. The system, part of an Intelligent Transportation System, ties to message boards, a radio station, and the department's web site with 30 second update intervals.
