The DOE and DHEC signed an order of consent on November 7 releasing the DOE from litigation by paying $25,000 for groundwater monitoring violations at the Savannah River Plant. The 14 violations at three plant areas prompted revisions to the groundwater quality assessment and sampling plans. The settlement calls for payment by December 9 after 23 negotiating sessions.
