Roof murder trial starts. jury seated in Charleston
The federal death penalty trial of Dylann Roof for the June 2015 Emanuel AME Church slayings in Charleston is scheduled to begin next week after final jury seating. Judge Richard Gergit expects a 12 member jury with six alternates to be chosen next Wednesday, with charges including hate crimes and obstruction of religion. Roof represents himself and has offered to plead guilty if prosecutors proceed.

Honor Capital to Acquire Save-A-Lot Store in Aiken
Honor Capital, a Tulsa based company owned largely by veterans, plans to acquire the closed Save-A-Lot at 522 York Street in Aiken and reopen by March 2017.
