Aiken High defeats Hilton Head 21 9 at Hagood Stadium earning a Class AAA final versus Greer at Irmo High. North Augusta edges its opponent 22 21 to reach the Class AAAA Division II title game against Lower Richland at Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia. Fred Walker scored twice for Aiken as North Augusta secured a late touchdown to clinch their spot.

TVA Rebuffs Nude Sunbathing Plea From Sunbathing Group

Chattanooga AP The American Sunbathing Association seeks TVA land for nude sunbathing. TVA manager says no land will be opened for such activity, viewing it as a violation of local ordinances and urging authorities to act. The group claims about 35,000 members nationwide and targets TVA with public lands numbering over 400,000 acres.

Philippines Air Strike Mistaken Identity Hits Government Forces

Philippine F-5 jets attacked suspected rebels near the armed forces headquarters but hit pro-government troops and civilians instead. At least six people were killed and 20 wounded. Brig. Gen. Donations Will Assure Happy Holidays For Less Fortunate

The Salvation Army collects for needy residents of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties. Food and toys will be distributed Dec 21 at the Aiken headquarters. The charity will be taking up donations next two Wednesdays from 9 am to noon for food and assistance. Grand total acknowledged at $6,968.00 with several individual contributions listed.
