Ferguson mayor says no severance for Wilson resignation
Ferguson Mayor James Knowles announced that police officer Darren Wilson did not receive severance pay or benefits after resigning effective immediately. Wilson, white, had been on leave since he fatally shot unarmed 18 year old Michael Brown on Aug 9, with a grand jury not indicting him and protests erupting nationwide. His lawyer cited threats as prompting the exit, while Mayor Knowles said no leadership changes are planned.
