Memorial magnolia tree planted for Jessica Carpenter
On the second anniversary of Jessica Carpenter’s death the Crosland Park neighborhood and City of Aiken planted a memorial magnolia. Bruce Rienzo Waters the tree daily and notes it began blossoming this week as a bronze plaque arrived from the engraver. Police later charged Robert Franklin Atkins, 31, with her murder.

Sunday alcohol sales proposed for Aiken ballot
