DMV cuts perk for lawmakers licenses after TV report
The South Carolina DMV ended a long standing courtesy allowing legislators and staff to bypass lines at the Columbia office. Rep Gary Simrill and Sen Mike Fair acknowledged using the room near the director's office for vehicle tag renewals. House Speaker David Wilkins noted some fault could be found with those spending weeks in Columbia. The policy change comes as Boykin Rose stated personal transactions will no longer be processed for General Assembly members, though aid to constituents remains possible.
