Bodies left unrefrigerated for years spark charges in SC
Two South Carolina funeral home workers, Lawrence Meadows and Roderick Cummings, were indicted for desecration after leaving Mary Alice Pitts Moore’s body in an unrefrigerated room surrounded by air fresheners for nearly three years. The body was moved between funeral homes over unpaid bills, and the case led to the First Family Funeral Home license revocation.
