The Aiken NAACP meets Tuesday at Smith-Hazel Recreation Center to elect a nominating committee for the biennial officer and executive committee election. Delegates for the state conference in Columbia in October will be chosen. The meeting is open to the public.
The 1998 Aiken County Sheriff’s Reserve Golf Shootout will be held Friday Oct 2 at Pine Ridge Country Club Edgefield. Proceeds aid the Sheriff’s Reserves Program. Four man Lauderdale/Captains Choice shotgun start 9 30 a m. registration 8 30 a m. entry 50 per player includes green fee cart awards prizes. Deadline Sept 28.
