Ten Year Old Robbery Suspect Demanded Hands Up

In Baltimore a 10 year old boy is accused of armed robbery after allegedly pulling a handgun on a 8 year old and taking a yo yo during a Thursday encounter. Police say the youth fled with the item and was later arrested on May 1 for another robbery involving a 9 year old and a .22 revolver.

Jail officials accused in mass escape plot in Oaxaca

Teodulo Gabriel Alarcon warden of Tuxtepec jail and Delfino G Mendoza Bautista police sergeant were ordered to stand trial in federal court on criminal conspiracy and interference charges. Thirty four inmates tunneled out on July Aug. 3. four were recaptured days later. Investigators say the warden and the sergeant accepted bribes to ignore the escape.

Richardson's Lake turned away Black scouts citing private club policy

Graniteville Richardson's Lake manager said the private club prohibits Black entry and two Cub Scout Pack 409 members were refused while white children were allowed. NAACP officials plan talks with the owner and will consult the national organization. Tickets grant membership rights and the club reserves denial power. the manager plans to leave his post amid the incident.

Hurricane Bob strengthened from a tropical storm to a hurricane off the U S Atlantic coast. A hurricane warning stretched from Virginia Beach to Cape Henlopen as outer banks and Pamlico Albemarle sounds faced the greatest threat. Bob moved at about nine miles per hour with center near 80 miles south of Cape Hatteras and top winds around 75 mph.

Mall Massacre in Australia Leaves Seven Dead
