NRDC and Energy Research Foundation vow appeal after U.S. District Judge Charles E. Simons Jr. refused a preliminary injunction to pause the Savannah River Site K-Reactor restart. The groups argued cooling tower work and water discharge pose risks to downstream wetlands, but the court found national security interests favored the restart and ordered no halt. The appeal goes to the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia.
