Aiken City Council unanimously approved a $6.5 million health facility revenue bond for Trinity Lutheran Home to be issued by the S C Jobs Economic Development Authority. Earl Hite and Clifton Baker, former members of the 30th Division, reunited after four years abroad. They traveled home on the Queen Mary with 15,000 servicemen, sharing keepsakes and memories of risky frontline work. Baker now links Boise Idaho and Hite Ken County Arkansas, recalling a two week voyage filled with gambling and camaraderie.
