Families seek consent law over films about polluted childhood case

Shoot the Carjacker law takes effect in Louisiana

A motorist may legally kill a carjacker under Louisiana’s new Shoot the Carjacker law taking effect Friday. The killer must be inside the car and reasonably believe force is being used and the carjacker victim must hold a concealed handgun permit. Police noted permit applications far below initial projections with 6,500 applications and 5,800 permits awarded.
