Straw poll in Ames draws tens of thousands for GOP showcase
About 40 000 Republicans packed Iowa State University grounds for a high profile straw poll with large tents, music and prizes as Mitt Romney and Sam Brownback led campaigns. Ticket buyers voting for a favorite candidate paid 35 dollars and used ID to vote amid tight security, while Huckabee played music and Ron Paul faced a court ruling over voting procedures.
