An 11 minute sniper attack from the top floor of a Holiday Inn in downtown Wichita Kansas killed two and wounded seven shoppers and workers. Five officers fired through a wall wounding a 19 year old man armed with two rifles. Michael Soles of Sand Springs Oklahoma was under guard in hospital in fair condition with leg wounds. Charges expected today.
The government moves to immunize nearly all Americans against swine flu as the program clears a final hurdle. President Ford plans to sign a bill to insure drug manufacturers producing the vaccine for mass inoculation. The $135 million campaign targets shots by late September with flu season expected to peak January to mid February.
