In Des Moines Iowa Sen Tom Harkin faced interruptions as about 200 in the audience challenged health care reform and accused mob tactics. Nationwide town halls drew similar clashes amid partisan debate over President Obama’s health care agenda.
North Carolina Democrat Brad Miller, a health care reform advocate, was threatened by a caller upset that he would not hold a public town hall. His office said the threat was escalated from a pressure tactic aimed at disrupting meetings as lawmakers prepare for August recess events.
