Funeral services for Jean Strayhorn Baynham 87 of North Augusta will be at Posey Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 11 AM with Dr. Gary C. Redding officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. She was a North Carolina native who lived in North Augusta 64 years and was active in First Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, a daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and six Baynham relatives. Pallbearers are listed. The family will receive friends Monday 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Powell Funeral Directors of North Augusta is in charge.

She was wife of Jack Williams mother of Rodney L Laura Williams and Donnie Williams grandmother of five and great grandmother of eight. A lifelong Aiken County resident she was a member of St John United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking painting sewing and time at Lake Murray. A life celebration is set for August 9 2010 at St John United Methodist Graniteville with interment in Graniteville Cemetery Napier Funeral Home in charge.

Born March 27 1927 in Comer Georgia she lived in Anderson Marion and finally Aiken. She was an avid golfer seamstress antique collector and community theatre member with two children Michael and Judy and one grandson Jonathan. Funeral services were private with donations requested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
