Peaches in peak demand despite frost impact
Tammy Glanton sells fresh Edgefield peaches at her Highway 19 Rutland stand through September. Frost hurt the first crop but a stronger second crop boosted supplies and prices rose from 4 to 8 for small baskets and from 12 to 15 per peck. The Ridge region including Edgefield remains a leading peach area, contributing to South Carolina's peach income and harvest totals.
