A newly laid parking lot enables openings at Market Place shopping center. Family Dollar plans to open August 16, followed by Kroger and Treasury Drug in October, per Center Developers and spokesman comments.
Ms Barre of an Atlanta firm notes Kroger will occupy about 31 00 square feet at the Market Place with a delicatessen. About 6 680 square feet remain unrented, with eight to ten stores possible. The center sits between Lewes and Marines Restaurant as talks with tenants proceed.
Aiken's court tennis building, one of seven in the United States, suffered water and smoke damage after flames spread from a nearby storage shed. The shed was destroyed as six fire trucks responded at 1 30 a m in the 100 block of Newberry Street SW.

North Augusta City Council sold the unfinished North Plaza Apartments to Uniflex Corporation for 50000. Uniflex plans renovate 60 existing units and add 96 garden apartments on the 13 acre site behind the North Augusta Shopping Center within 18 months.
