South Carolina Beaches in Best Shape in Years
Coastal geologist Scott Harris says SC beaches are in their best condition in decades with no major tropical blows last year and two renourishment projects on Isle of Palms and along Garden City to North Myrtle Beach. He cautions one significant storm could alter the coast. The Beachfront Management Act and sand rebuilding efforts help maintain the shoreline amid erosion risks on Hunt ing Island Harbor Island and near Breach Inlet.
