Teens arrested in theft of VA laptop and data breach
Two 19 year old teens from Rockville Md were arrested on burglary and theft charges in connection with the May 3 theft of a government owned laptop and hard drive containing sensitive data on up to 26.5 million veterans and military personnel. The items were recovered and turned in to the FBI on June 28 after a $50 000 reward. The breach prompted statements from VA officials stressing the scale of the data loss and the investigation continues with a juvenile suspect also involved.
