City telephone bill increases in Aiken this month
Aiken residents within city limits will see higher bills as Southern Bell pays a $27,865 excess business license tax under a 3 percent gross revenue levy. The charge, about 17 percent of local service, results from an ordinance affecting utilities and could be refunded if the SC Supreme Court rules for Southern Bell.
