Aiken Sewerage Plans Narrowed to Four Lagoon Plants
Aiken City Council heard six proposals for sewer expansion through 2003. Wiedeman and Singleton recommended four lagoon type plants along Shaws Creek Cedar Creek Hollow Creek and Town Creek to serve rapid southern development and industrial growth north of the city. The $17.4 million plan would reduce pumping stations from 21 to nine north and three south of U S 1 and draw 75 percent federal aid initially with grants fading after 1984. Construction could start late 1984 with water bills rising as local costs covered.

Grievances Hearings Stir Aiken County Council Deep Debate
