Thieves Target Tools in Vehicle Break-ins at Stores
Aiken Public Safety warns of a string of vehicle break-ins at two local home improvement stores. About six thefts occurred in July with losses running into thousands, targeting loaded tool boxes and beds of pickups while shoppers are inside. Capt. Ray Scot notes thieves act fast, parking nearby to grab items then flee, often on Saturdays. Residents urged to lock vehicles and contact 911 or the tip line 642-7799 with any suspicious activity.
