Passes May Have Been Stolen At World’s Fair
New Orleans AP reports that low level workers at the debt ridden World’s Fair may have stolen season passes worth up to 150 dollars and sold them. Authorities seized thousands of records in a ticket sales office during a sweep. The investigation runs as a legislative council probes the fair, expected to owe about 60 million dollars at closing on November 11. The fair says 160000 season tickets were sold at 90 to 150 dollars each, with concerns some money never reached the exposition. Staff from Orleans Parish District Attorney Harry Connick’s office confirm theft and fraud inquiries into season passes, with one official saying some low level employees are involved.
