Edisto River Cleanup Aims To Improve Access And Safety

South Carolina lawmaker recounts seeking funds from the state water recreational resources fund for a river cleanup. Underwater Construction of Tennessee conducted a January survey along about two miles of the Edisto with DN R officials and local partners to assess work and costs for removing fallen trees and improving public access and erosion control.

Silver Bluff Road project wrap announced with partial traffic to continue

SCDOT sped up action after requests from Sen Tarn Young and Rep Bart Blackwell to resolve delays. Eagle Construction began in 2018 with a $6.18 million contract, after an original bid of 5 million. All paving now complete and 1.5 mile stretch from Indian Creek Teall to Richardsons Lake to open today with minor cleanup and intermittent lane closures to finish signal work.
