Aaron Bell Duke Ellington bassist dies at 82
Aaron Bell, Duke Ellington's bassist from 1960 to 1962 and later an arranger, died at 82. A Navy band member in World War II, he worked with Buck Clayton Billie Holiday and Sammy Davis Jr. He taught at Essex County College and led a Memorial Suite for Duke in 1983.
