Educational reactor proposed for SRS as research tool
Mel Buckner of Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness described adding an educational reactor at the Savannan Ewer Site to advance nuclear research and training. He noted it would educate students from nearby universities, would not generate power, and emphasized nuclear energy as a low greenhouse gas option. Buckner cited SC State and UW partnerships and hoped for a fall workshop to draft a proposal, with Aiken Kiwanis meetings at Houndslake Country Club weekly.
