Aiken Debuts Inaugural Half Marathon Run United Draws Runners

In steady drizzle hundreds of runners completed Aiken's first half marathon part of the RUN UNITED event benefiting United Way of Aiken County. The course covered downtown streets Schofield Middle School and Whitney polo field with over 400 registered participants and more than 200 volunteers. Brett Morley of Landrum won in 1 10 29, a personal best, as organizers praised community unity and look ahead to a bigger fifth year.
