Plutonium Shipments Accelerated Toward Savannah River Site
Senior writer Philip Lord reports that final shipments of spent weapons-grade plutonium from Colorado are due at the Savannah River Site by summer’s end. The accelerated Rocky Flats program aims to move 6.5 metric tons for mixed oxide fuel, with MOX mission consideration for SRS and Duke Energy testing planned next year. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission may announce MOX processing site by November.

Hitchcock Healthcare Auction Dinner Raises Funds with Thunderbird Prize
The 16th annual Hitchcock Healthcare Auction Dinner at Rye Patch raised funds for rehabilitative services.
