Menopause and eye issues highlight Women’s Health Luncheon
At Aiken Regional Medical Center the Women’s Health Symposium Luncheon covered menopause and eye problems. Dr. Margo Muniz noted menopause often begins around age 50 and can raise cholesterol and osteoporosis risk, with 3 to 5 percent bone loss yearly and only about 29 percent of women screened. Dr. Nini Patheja discussed dry eyes floaters and flashes, recommending artificial tears and warning that many floaters or flashes could signal retinal detachment.
