Bionic Golfers Tee Off At Third Annual Event
Seventy five golfers including five amputees and 12 states took part at Houndslake Country Club for the Third Annual Bionic Golf Tournament. Mark Cheevers, a 75 year old with six metal joint replacements since 1988, highlighted the field. Proceeds benefit the Hitchcock Rehabilitation Center. The winning team was Jeannie Mann, Dick Strohm and Hank Ford, with Joe Carroll’s group in second and Andrew Kennedy’s team in third. The event opened for Good Morning America with filming by WJBF-TV, airing May 2 nationwide.
